Attractively situated on the river at Leintwardine, The Lion offers decent food in a pleasant setting and is our closest pub.
Dogs are permitted in the bar.

The Riverside Inn, Aymestrey


The Riverside Inn at Aymestrey offers the best eating experience in the area bar none. The menu is consistently excellent and the chef inventive.
It is popular so you will need to book at least a week or more in advance, although they may be able to fit you in if you give them a call.

The Church Inn, Ludlow
The Church Inn in the centre of Ludlow, is a Grade II listed building which has the warmth and character one would expect from what was originally a 14th Century house. Open year-round, traditional and hearty British pub fare is served in pleasant contemporary surroundings. Its beer garden is situated in part of St Lawrence's churchyard to the rear.

The Horse & Jockey, Knighton
The Horse & Jockey (£), just over the border into Wales, offers good pub staples at very reasonable prices. It is in the centre of the town & has a few outside tables.
Portions are usually large and service friendly.

The Sun Inn next door, one of only eight alehouses left in the UK. It doesn't serve food but you can take your fish and chips there. Be sure to look into the old parlour on the left of the door, and the original public bar on the right. These rooms formed the original pub before the rear extension was built in 2010


Situated in this attractive town in the beautiful Clun valley, the White Horse is well-known for its good local food and beer.
This is a friendly pub with lots of character which will appeal to the keen beer drinker - the pub brews its own ale which is well worth sampling.

This historic pub and brewery, opened in 1642, has been cleverly enlarged but maintains the spirit of the original pub with a public bar, snug bar, lounge bar and an oak-framed, glass-sided dining room.
Great food, an extensive menu and four ales, brewed next door plus woodburners and cosy nooks make this pub a must visit.
